Rota Termal do Minho: património hidráulico em Ourense
O antigo moinho de pedra das Termas do "Muíño da Veiga" ergue-se na margem do rio Minho, em Ourense, na Galiza, integrado na Rota Termal do Rio Minho, percurso pedonal que articula diferentes nascentes termais urbanas. Restaurado e adaptado à visita, o edifício preserva a volumetria tradicional dos moinhos de água galegos, historicamente associados à moagem de cereais e à economia rural ribeirinha. A proximidade ao curso de água e a presença de canalizações e estruturas hidráulicas remetem para o aproveitamento da energia do rio, mediante a condução do caudal até ao rodízio e ao mecanismo de moagem. Hoje, o conjunto funciona como referência patrimonial e como elemento identitário das piscinas termais gratuitas envolventes, onde a cultura balnear contemporânea convive com a memória de um uso produtivo do território.
The old stone mill at the “Muíño da Veiga” thermal baths stands on the banks of the Minho River in Ourense, Galicia, as part of the Minho River Thermal Route, a walking trail that connects various urban thermal springs. Restored and adapted for visitors, the building preserves the traditional form of Galician water mills, historically associated with grain milling and the rural riverside economy.
