No Adro da Guia: passos entre o mar e a devoção
Um caminhante avança pelo terraço superior do Santuário de Nossa Senhora da Guia, erguido no topo do monte de Belinho, a cerca de 150 metros de altitude, dominando a paisagem costeira de Esposende. Este local de culto mariano, hoje ex libris da antiga freguesia de Belinho, organiza-se em vários patamares que conduzem à capela atual, benzida a 19 de maio de 1974, construída em substituição de uma ermida mais antiga, já documentada pelo menos desde o século XVII. A tradição local recorda que aqui existiu um lampião de azeite voltado ao oceano, funcionando como referência luminosa para navegantes que cruzavam ao largo da costa minhota. Desde 2001, o santuário é ponto de encontro anual da peregrinação arciprestal de Esposende, quando fiéis das quinze paróquias do arciprestado sobem em conjunto desde o adro da igreja paroquial de Belinho até ao monte da Senhora da Guia, reforçando o caráter de lugar de caminhada, oração e contemplação que a imagem ilustra. Do cimo, o miradouro permite avistar uma ampla extensão do litoral atlântico, realçando a dimensão espiritual e geográfica deste monte de devoção.
A hiker walks along the upper terrace of the Shrine of Nossa Senhora da Guia, perched atop Belinho Hill at an altitude of about 150 meters, overlooking the coastal landscape of Esposende. This Marian shrine, now the symbol of the former parish of Belinho, is arranged in several terraces leading up to the current chapel, which was consecrated on May 19, 1974, and built to replace an older hermitage documented as far back as the 17th century. Local tradition recalls that an olive oil lantern once stood here, facing the ocean, serving as a beacon for sailors passing off the coast of Minho. Since 2001, the sanctuary has been the annual gathering point for the Esposende archpriesthood pilgrimage, when the faithful from the fifteen parishes of the archpriesthood climb together from the churchyard of the parish church of Belinho to the hill of Senhora da Guia, reinforcing the character of this place as a site for walking, prayer, and contemplation, as embodied by the image. From the summit, the lookout point offers a view of a vast stretch of the Atlantic coastline, highlighting the spiritual and geographical significance of this hill of devotion.
