Coreto do Rosário: Memória Filarmónica à Beira-Tejo
O Coreto do Rosário, captado ao final da tarde sob a luz dourada do poente, ergue-se como elemento central do Largo do Coreto, no centro do Rosário, freguesia de Gaio-Rosário, no concelho da Moita, distrito de Setúbal. De planta octogonal, apresenta a tipologia clássica dos coretos portugueses, difundidos entre o final do século XIX e a primeira metade do século XX, e integra um conjunto urbano que remete para a sociabilidade filarmónica e festiva das comunidades ribeirinhas do Tejo. A estrutura, em ferro trabalhado, assenta sobre um embasamento pintado em tons de ocre e branco, com decoração de losangos e liras estilizadas. A cobertura, em forma de pagode, é rematada por um pináculo de ferro forjado. Em redor, a calçada portuguesa, os bancos corridos, as floreiras e a arborização reforçam a ambiência de largo tradicional, onde o coreto continua a acolher arraiais, festas populares e concertos filarmónicos.
The Rosário Bandstand, photographed in the late afternoon under the golden light of the setting sun, stands as the central feature of Largo do Coreto, in the heart of Rosário, in the parish of Gaio-Rosário, in the municipality of Moita, Setúbal District. With an octagonal floor plan, it exemplifies the classic style of Portuguese bandstands, which were widespread from the late 19th century through the first half of the 20th century, and forms part of an urban ensemble that evokes the festive, philharmonic spirit of the communities along the Tagus River. The structure, made of wrought iron, rests on a base painted in shades of ochre and white, decorated with stylized lozenges and lyres. The pagoda-shaped roof is topped by a wrought-iron pinnacle. All around, the Portuguese cobblestone pavement, the long benches, the flower boxes, and the trees reinforce the atmosphere of a traditional square, where the bandstand continues to host festivals, popular celebrations, and philharmonic concerts.
