Entre a Spiaggia Grande e a Cúpula de Maiólica
Na zona baixa de Positano, junto à Spiaggia Grande, a malha urbana organiza-se em socalcos e escadarias que ligam o areal às casas e ao núcleo religioso. Ao fundo destaca-se a Igreja de Santa Maria Assunta, cuja cúpula revestida a azulejos de maiólica é um dos traços mais reconhecíveis da paisagem local. O templo, implantado sobre uma estrutura de origem antiga e consolidado ao longo dos séculos, está associado ao culto da Madonna Nera, imagem venerada em Positano e ligada à tradição marítima do Mediterrâneo. Em primeiro plano, a praça articula a frente ribeirinha com a vida turística contemporânea, concentrando esplanadas, restaurantes e circulação pedonal num espaço fortemente condicionado pela topografia da Costa Amalfitana.
In the lower part of Positano, next to Spiaggia Grande, the urban fabric is organized into terraces and stairways that connect the beach to the houses and the religious center. In the background stands the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, whose dome, clad in majolica tiles, is one of the most recognizable features of the local landscape. The church, built on an ancient foundation and reinforced over the centuries, is associated with the cult of the Madonna Nera, an image venerated in Positano and linked to the Mediterranean maritime tradition. In the foreground, the square connects the waterfront with contemporary tourist life, bringing together outdoor cafes, restaurants, and pedestrian traffic in a space strongly shaped by the topography of the Amalfi Coast.
